Farmers Market Rookie

Well this was the first time I was a Vendor at any Farmers Market - But with the help from Zita of
Ignite Strategic Solutions (I was able to get into the SouthWest Terwillegar Farmers Market before the end of the season ! Since I am also in the graphic industry - it was easy to have my banners and signage done up quickly !

It was super windy - but at least I was able to grab some rocks to keep everything down !

The weather was a bit chilly - But it was a good day to get out and about and the the CoverBoo brand out there for people to see. Sold a couple, and a bunch of people took some cards to pass off to their girlfriends and other mom groups.

I had Noah & my mom come with me. At least my mom was able to entertain him while I was setting up. They strolled around the market and played in the truck for a while. He was a trooper - But was able to go home early after his dad came by to pick him up after work !

I was placed in an area surrounded by things I love. To the left of me - I had a vendor selling Wine. ( too bad she didnt have any samples out ... I actually joked about her cracking open a bottle so we could warm up a bit !)
To the right of me I had Gymboree and A bakery with some muffins, cup cakes and other goodies !
And Right infront of me I had Some Greek Food Vendors and Korean Food Vendors....They all had food samples !!! Mom bought Muffins, Bulgogi and I bought some greek dip.

This will probably be my only outdoor market ( till next year ) as the season is now over. It was a good experience. But at least I have all the basics : Folding table, banners, cards, product.
Hopefully I can get into some of the upcoming indoor shows !

purple plaid and a bunch of tags !

Busy Days...
Between meetings with a Strategist and other business minded moms and meetings with seamstresses and bugging my current manufacturer for my products, cleaning the house, getting groceries, quick pizza dinners with the hubby, visits with gramma & great gramma, and of course the baby snuggles - I find solace in the return of my many prime time shows ! ( my TV friends are back )

" Shhhh - My show is on " - is my most uttered phrase this week.

Luckily I can multi-task !
here is a bunch of tags I was able to do up. ( Fun with a Soldering iron !!! ) FYI its used on the ends so the labels don't fray.... I guess this will have to do till I find a label manufacturer with decent rates !

Its doesn't even LOOK like a nursing cover - does it ?!?

Its all in the Details....

So I picked up a few samples from a manufacturer I'm trying out.
Things seem to be going pretty ok. Here are a couple of the Samples...
I am still looking for a place to get the labels done, so far these ones I have are home made.
They are printed & heat pressed onto ribbon. It will have to do for now.........

I know that I will be my biggest critic .... But I had to bring the CoverBoos to my Grandmother. She was a seamstress all her life but she can't sew anymore ( she will be turning 93 yrs old at the end of the month ) -
But she gave me the thumbs up on the design !
Yay Grandma !

road trippin'

So we went out to Calgary for the day in hopes to check out this BBQ championship thing.... but that didn't materialize. ( shed a wee tear ) But we DID end up having lunch at Bragg Creek near Canmore.

Someone got a bit hungry & cranky so we stopped for a bit so the little one could eat. Everyone else who was out for a walk was pretty friendly, even most of the mountain bikers - I did notice one lady a bit freaked out. She rode by, smiled, then had a weird look of confusion as to what I was doing sitting on a rock all covered up... then it dawned on her that I was nursing my baby.... what gave it away ? Maybe the 2 little feet sticking out ( like the wicked witch of the west ) Whatever hater !

After we were done we kept on the trails and enjoyed ourselves !
It was a nice drive out of the city, and a nice day for a hike !

On another note - one of the Little Boutiques in Bragg Creek took notice of the CoverBoo and inquired about ordering some to stock in their little retail store ! So I'm going to talk to them again next week !!! Exciting !!!!!!!!!!

Still Fine Tuning things.

So All this time I've been collecting fabric that I like. And playing around with the design pattern and sizes.
I''m still in the process of fine tuning a few little things here and there. I've had a chance to gather some info about embroidery vs. Heat transfer ink etc...

Who would have thought there was so much to consider for just a simple garment ?
But, I love it. I love all the options there is for ths. I love the different avenues I could go with this thing.
Once I have the final pattern nailed down, I'll be off an runnin' ( Like I'm not already - The last few weeks have been nothing but living, breathing and thinking all things CoverBoo).

Here's a peek at one of the samples I have almost done.
