Interviewing...

Alot of the time spent lately has been fighting with my machine.
So I've met with a some seamstresses, and a couple designers, and some production people. Tommorow maybe I'll scope out more fabric. The shopping for fabric is the fun part.
Still scoping out places to get woven labels or embroidered labels. Whatever. Hmmmm - Tired.

Mental note - This takes time. It doesn't happen overnight.

So it was a Social Networking Event !
It was awesome to meet so many wonderful and talented people !
And Great Food, Great wine -- Great party !
Even though I've only been doing the CoverBoo thing about a week and a half, every one has been so welcoming and offered some very very useful advice !

sew, cut, stitch, coffee.... repeat.

Sew. Cut. Stitch. Coffee. Repeat with different beverages through out the days.
So here is a pile of different materials I have yet to finish up with...

Also..Here is a new pattern & Style. This one will have a built in pocket - I'll probably sew in a strip of velcro and you can put a soother in there, or change or in my case a bag of candy or chapstick !

Hmmmm ..... need more coffee.

Weekend Outings

So I took a well deserved break from sewing etc -- But I spent a LOT of time on the computer on Friday starting up Accounts for Blogspot, Facebook, Etsy, & Twitter. But Its out there now... all I have to do is maintain everything.
I did however get a chance to enjoy the 2 days of actual SUMMER that we had this weekend . We headed out to The Canadian Derby, to watch the horse races ( but Mostly because we could dress up and wear fancy hats ! )

I must say though - I used to be really self concious about breast feeding in public - But now that I have these CoverBoos, I really dont mind at all. It is what it is. And when my bebe is all fussy & hungry, this is the easiest & quickest way I can soothe him !
We were also able to check out the MomsTown party @ the Spray Park today -( +30 degrees ) It was great, Lots of people out today ( and the cupcakes from Whimsical cakes were great too )
A few people asked me about the CoverBoo ... So I let one of the moms try it out !
so here is our First Testimonial !

Tiffany from the Momstown Party said
" I like the lightness of the fabric, and the fact that it doesn't feel like I'm wearing a Tent ! "

Yay !

Funtimes.

Just Starting up ....

I've been thinking of this idea for the Nursing Covers for quite some time now...months actually. Last Sunday I finally got off my butt and tried my luck with the sewing machine. And thats where it started.
I decided to dig out this sewing machine and put it to use....

Since Sunday ( August 14 ) I've been all over this nursing cover idea. Sewing, stitching, ,making contacts, meeting with people, and coming up with product names.
There were all sorts of names thrown out there:
Fashion Feeder
Feeding Fashionista
NoshNeckWear
CoverMeCouture
Cover'd Bean
HauteMilk
all sorts of stuff... and of course - there was "Tittie Scarf" - Courtesy of the husband. Thinks he's a comedian.
At least he's trying to keep things light and silly when I get too engrossed in my new project here !
If I'm not sewing, or trying to figure out how to use Bias Tape, I'm Online or designing the business card, or logo, and trying to set up the Etsy Store, get new twitter and email account... and finally setting up the web site / blog etc.

Things are coming along nicely. I just have to remind myself that it doesn't happen over night ! ( even though I try to make it happen over night )
